  • Poetry/Story Writing Contests Update: The Poetry and Story Writing Contests have officially closed for this year. The entries that we have received are compiled into one document. Please review this document and make sure that your entry is included in it -- if you submitted an entry but you don't see it in this document, please contact us immediately. Two of our ELA teachers, Ms. Christina Cibrario and Ms. Christina Fayz are grading the entries and the results will be announced soon.

  • Referral Bonus Update: AIM4A strives to provide the best tutoring service in town. If you like our service, please do let your friends know about it and earn referral bonus ($5 per month credit to your account as long as your referral stays with AIM4A). To refer AIM4A to your friends, you may:

May 2009 News/Announcements

  • Poetry/Story Writing Contests Update: Many students have already submitted their entries for these contests. To encourage more participation, we will accept late entries till the end of this month. So, if you haven't already done so, send them in -- the clock is ticking and entries will not be accepted after May 30th.

    As announced earlier, all the qualifying poetry and story entries will be compiled and published as "Scribble Place -- Creative Collection 2009" book. Ms. Christina Fayz, one of our ELA tutors has volunteered to be the editor of the book. We are also looking for student volunteers to help with the cover design and layout design of the book. So, if you are interested in helping out with this effort, please let us know.

  • Student Progress Reports: We are pleased to announce new features in AIM4A CMS (Center Management System). This system now lets parents view their children's progress reports online. If you would like to track what your children are doing at AIM4A and also provide feedback and suggestions to their tutors, please let us know and we will send you access information.

  • AP Biology Group Class: A new group class is starting for AP Biology at Farmington on Mondays 7 PM - 8 PM. Fee for this class is $49.95 per month. This class is intended for advanced middle and high school students and it is an excellent opportunity to get ahead, especially for students who plan to specialize in sciences! Some students are travelling from Canton, so there may be opportunity to car pool for this class if you live in Canton area.

  • 2008 AIM4A Award Ceremony: This year's award ceremony will be held on Sunday, September 28, 2008 at 1 PM at AIM4A Farmington, 23333 Orchard Lake Road, Farmington, MI 48336.

    All our past, present, and prospective students and tutors are cordially invited to attend the Award Ceremony to recognize the hardwork and celebrate the successes of the students and tutors!

  • New Center Management System (CMS): We are pleased to announce that we have recently implemented a new web based Center Management System (CMS). CMS will help the tutors plan the curriculums for the students and keep track of their progress more effectively. One change you will notice right away is that your students' worksheets will have their name already printed on them indicating that they were planned and printed just for them!

  • 2008 Essay Writing & Public Speaking Registration: These contests are an excellent opportunity for your students to test and improve their writing and public speaking skills. Registration for these contests will be closing shortly, so if you haven't already done so, please register today.

  • July 08 Raffle: From this month, the raffle date will not be pre-announced and the winners will be selected among the students who are present on the day -- the time of the raffle will still be between the two group classes. This method will benefit the students who attend more classes and attend them regularly.

  • Recent Achievements of AIM4A Students:

    • Congratulations to the following AIM4A students who have been selected to participate in 2008 North South Foundation National Educational Contests to be held at Masschusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), Cambridge, MA:
      • Rohan Nuthakki (Junior Spelling Bee)
      • Suresh Machetti (Senior Spelling Bee)
      • Raghav Jain (Math Bee Level 1)
      • Ajay Sohmshetty (Math Bee Level 3)
      • Archana Sohmshetty (Math Bee Level 3)

    • Shawn Lyons, a high school student, has seen significant rise in the grades since he started attending AIM4A. Recently, his mother received a note from Shawn's teacher at school commending his excellent performance at the tests. Good job, Shawn!

    • Plymouth Canton School District Education Board recently recognized Ajay Sohmshetty at their board meeting. Ajay is a member of Pioneer MATH COUNTS team that came 2nd in the regional and 5th in the state competitions. Good show, Ajay!

  • 2008 Essay Writing & Public Speaking Contests Schedule Change: Many parents have requested that the contests and the award ceremony be rescheduled so that they do not conflict with the popular summer vacation time. To accommodate their requests, the contest and award ceremony dates have been changed. Please see the contest information page for the updated schedule.

May 2008 News/Announcements

  • April 08 Student of the Month: Congratulations to the winner of April raffle -- Pradyumna Prabhudeva.

  • AIM4A Student Achievements: Congratulations to the following AIM4A students for their recent achievements:
    • Ananya Yanamandra has been selected to Plymouth/Canton Talented and Gifted Program.
    • Several of our students did extremely well in the highly competitive 2008 North South Foundation Detroit Educational Contests:
      • Archana Sohmshetty (1st in Essay Writing and 3rd in Public Speaking Contest)
      • Raghav Jain (2nd in Math Contest)
      • Vineet Kommidi (3rd in Math Contest)
      • Several other students including Suresh Machetti, Ajay Sohmshetty, Vamsi Garimella, and Hemant Chittela participated and performed well.
    • We will be recognizing these students at our Annual Award Ceremony. If any of the other AIM4A students have notable academic achievements, please let us know so that we can recognize them as well.

  • May 08 Raffle: Your student should have received raffle ticket(s) at end of April 08. If they didn't, please ask them to talk to their tutors. Students need to write their name & phone number on the tickets and deposit in the box at the registration table. This month's raffle will be held on Thursday, May 22, 08 at 7:00 PM.
